Moab Desert Explorations

Destination Overview

Lifeschool's Go Adventure Program is excited to offer this unique opportunity to visit one of our country’s most beautiful wilderness areas. The desert landscape is an environment of extremes and holds an immense beauty larger than anything you can imagine until you experience it firsthand. The town of Moab is located in south-eastern Utah where colorful red rock desert canyons meet snowy mountains.

Two National Park gems are close to Moab. Just outside Moab’s city limits is Arches National Park with its hundreds of arches and amazing rock formations and colors, and just a short drive outside of Moab is Canyonlands National Park.

Canyonlands invites you to explore a wilderness of countless canyons and fantastically formed buttes carved by the Colorado River and its tributaries. On top of all the canyon and rock formation exploring, there is the Green River, a beautiful desert oasis that provides amazing views of the snowy La Sal Mountains.

Activity Potential

In the Moab region, you can focus on land activities, water fun, or both!

Rafting down the Green River for a day or two or more is a relaxing and fun way to explore the desert. Spend some time under immense arches or hiking in the Devil’s Garden in Arches National Park. Get to know a Navaho storyteller and learn how to make fry bread (you’ll get to eat it too, don’t worry!). Go bouldering and exploring in the canyons of Canyonlands National Park. Enjoy a day mountain biking on Moab’s world-famous slick rock trails! Then enjoy a refreshing dip in a local swimming hole. Cap it all off with evenings of big skies full of stars and campfire stories.

All this and more is possible on the Moab Desert Adventure!
